What are the differences between Touché SE and Touché?

---

Touché SE is a more affordable ‘USB-only’ version of the existing Touché controller.

It has the exact same form factor and features the exact same patented playing mechanism. It also offers the same software-side capabilities, meaning that with Touché SE, you will get the same software bundle and identical factory sound library. This way you are able to control all of your VST instruments just as it is the case with its bigger brother, the "classic" Touché.

However, Touché SE does not feature physical MIDI In/Out and CV output ports. It also doesn't have 24 internal memory slots like the Touché, so its standalone capabilities are quite limited. Generally speaking, Touché SE is designed to be hooked up to a computer, controlling soft synths in most of the cases, whereas the "classic" Touché adds great integration of hardware synths on top.

That being said, Touché SE can still act as a MIDI class compliant device when it is not used with our companion app Lié. It features one single, customizable internal memory, that defines which MIDI CCs are sent. Learn more about the standalone capabilities of Touché and Touché SE here.

Eventually, the most obvious difference between the two models is that Touché SE features an all black polycarbonate touch-plate ‘skin’, whereas the touch-plate of the classic Touché is made out of real wood (tinted mahogany). Please be aware that you can purchase a choice of different touch-plates through our website, should you want to upgrade your Touché SE with a wooden 'skin'.
