If you are unable to flash/update the EaganMatrix DSP firmware via OsmoseUpdater or get a "haken dsp not found" error on Osmose after trying it, or if you have corrupted your DSP firmware by using a non-compatible version of the Haken Editor before, then it can help to transfer the DSP firmware via the Haken Editor instead of using OsmoseUpdater.
⚠ If you are still on an Osmose firmware with version 1.x., then updating the DSP firmware will erase all your sound presets and only transfer the factory sounds to Osmose. Use the ‘back up user data’ and ‘restore user data’ functions if you wish to keep your sound presets. If you have already updated to a 2.x firmware, then your presets aren’t stored on the Haken DSP board anymore and won’t be touched during the Haken DSP update.
Follow the steps below to flash the DSP firmware using Haken Editor:
1) Launch the Haken Editor Max patch that is contained in the firmware 2.0 zip file of the firmware that your Osmose is currently on. How to launch Haken Editor and establish a connection to Osmose is explained in this article: Connecting Osmose to the Haken Editor.
2) Once a connection between Osmoe and Haken Editor is established, check if you already get a blue banner stating "You Require Firmware Update File 2". If you see this banner, skip to Step 4).
3) If no specific message is displayed once the connection between Haken Editor and your Osmose is established, please click on the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the Haken Editor to open "Midi and Global Settings". Click "Update Firmware" in the lower right corner of the window that opens and choose "Load Update File 1":
Wait for the process to complete. At the end of the process, the Haken Editor will ask you to power cycle Osmose:
Do as you are told (switch Osmose off and on again). After the bootup, the Osmose screen should read "dsp needs an update - please update haken firmware". Click 'OK' on Osmose to make the popup go away.
4) The Haken Editor should show a blue bar saying "You Require Firmware Update File 2". Open the "Midi and Global Settings" and choose "Update Firmware" once again. This time, click on "Load Update File 2".
Wait for the transfer to complete. When everything is done, close the Haken Editor and relaunch Osmose a last time.
Firmware 2.0 should then work, and you should have sound. If your Osmose doesn't show any factory presets, check here: I don't have any presets on my Osmose after trying to update to firmware 2.0
