This article explains how you can delete all traces of Lié from your computer. This enables a fresh start when encountering issues that stem from a corrupt database.
Precondition: showing hidden folders
In order to have access to some of the folders that need to removed manually, you need to have "show hidden folders" activated on your computer.
On a Mac
To show hidden folders in macOS 10.12 and higher, just hit the combination [CMD] + [SHIFT] + [.]
when you have Finder open.
For older versions than macOS 10.12 follow the steps below:
- Open Terminal found in Finder > Applications > Utilities
-
In Terminal, paste the following:
`defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES`
- Press return
- Hold the ‘Option/alt’ key, then right click on the Finder icon in the dock and click Relaunch.
On a Windows PC
To show hidden folders in Windows Explorer, click on 'View', then 'Advanced Settings' and open 'Folder Options'. In the tab 'View', find 'Files and Folders' -> 'Hidden files and folders' and choose 'Show hidden files, folders and drivers'. Click on 'OK' to confirm.
Steps needed for a clean reinstallation of Lié
1. Uninstall your current Lié version by using the uninstaller on Windows or moving the app to the trash on a Mac
2. Using Explorer/Finder, delete the following items manually:
macOS:
Settings folder:
Macintosh HD/Users/*YourUserName*/Library/Application Support/Liex64
Plug-in files:
Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Lie.component
Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Lie.vst
Windows 10:
Settings folders:
C:\ProgramData\Expressivee
C:\ProgramData\Liex64
C:\Users\*YourUserName*\AppData\Roaming\Expressivee
C:\Users\*YourUserName*\AppData\Roaming\Liex64
Plug-in file:
C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Lie.dll
3. Make sure you have the current version of Lié by downloading it from your customer account and reinstall Lié. We recommend to launch Lié as standalone app after this. A new Lié plugin scan will be needed.
Remark: You can leave UVI Workstation untouched during the whole process.
